About Lori Gibson Willard

 

 

 

Lori Gibson was born and raised in Carrizozo, New Mexico . She comes from a family that has resided in Lincoln County for over 100 years. She graduated from Carrizozo High School and went to New Mexico State University where she obtained a Bachelors Degree in Special and Regular Education; from there she taught behavior disorder children in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico and Las Cruces, New Mexico. She  left teaching to attend Oklahoma City University, a private Methodist University. She graduated from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2004 with a Juris Doctorate. In 2004, she obtained her New Mexico Law license and went to work for the 12th Judicial District Attorney’s Office prosecuting domestic violence. She was an Assistant District Attorney for two years before she opened up her own legal practice. In 2010, she was admitted to practice in the US 10th Circuit Federal Courts. From 2014-2015, Lori served as a hearing commissioner for the 12th Judicial District Court.

Lori is married to Cody Willard, owner of www.tradingwithcody.com, whose family has been in Lincoln County since the early 1970s. Cody and Lori have two daughters, Lyncoln Lee Willard and Amaris Leone Willard. Lori and Cody’s daughter, Amaris, was diagnosed with Trisomy 13, a genetic disorder. She has really changed their views on raising children.

At this time, Lori is an active member of the 12th Judicial Bench and Bar Association. She is a member of  The 12th Judicial Pro Bono Committee and the Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce.
